Ohio Michigan Indiana Area Special Local Users' Group April 28th and 29th, 2010 at the Cisco Systems, Richfield, Ohio
OMI welcomes the opportunity to serve the PADS community. For the first we are inviting the PADS users to this conference. The workshops will cover topics common to the Expedition and the PADS flows. On our meeting day, there will be two tracks of presentations on the different layout software in the morning and an afternoon of sessions of common interests to all. We hope to see many new faces and that this will an opportunity to network with people that have a viewpoint stemming from another toolset and distinct understanding of our industry.
The PADS flow using DxDesigner is moving into an iCDB interface. The Expedition/DxDesigner interface has been using the iCDB. Here is a chance to exchange the experiences and knowledge learned from working with the iCDB environment. We will be holding a discussion of using DxDesigner in an iCDB Environment after lunch on the 28th. On the 29th there will be a morning hands-on workshop for PADS/DxDesigner and the iCDB database. The workshop will be useful to people working with DxDesigner in a PADS or Expedition work flow.
April 29th will be a day of workshops at the 2010 OMI A SLUG conference and in the afternoon Andrea Fox of Mentor Graphics will be running a HyperLynx workshop focusing from basic to mid level technology. SI Building Blocks – The methodology and tool exposure you need to jump start your design process with HyperLynx SI. There will be 14 laptops available to give you hands-on the feel of the ease of use and yet the power of HyperLynx SI.
On April 28th, Mentor Graphics and Oasis will be showing us what is new and cool in the Expedition Enterprise software and the PADS software products. Then they will be presenting a roadmap for the future of their products. Are you using the routing software to your most advantageous time to completion and routing optimization? Mentor and Oasis will show you enhanced Expedition and PADS auto-routing and interactive routing techniques. Please tune in so that you can tune-up your routing skill sets. You may have heard that Mentor has just purchased a 3D field solver and that there are other changes in the simulation software. The HyperLynx family of tools will be reviewed in the HyperLynx simulation technology presentation – Hyper This and Hyper That …Let’s Dig In! Andrea Fox will be leading you through the expanding product capabilities of the industry standard signal and power integrity family of tools.
High temperature soldering and high speed signals have forced changes and innovations in PCB laminate material. Rogers Corporation is a major player in the laminate business and they will be presenting a PCB laminate and prepreg overview. Attend and find out the advances in PCB technology and impact on material performance. Lead free soldering has given rise to higher temperatures for the laminate material and Rogers will explain the thermal properties specs and what they mean. The laminate material’s electrical properties effect how your signals move across your boards and these effects can change with different signal frequencies. Rogers will explain their laminate’s electrical properties.
Noted industry lecturer, Mike Fitts, will be the keynote speaker! Mike will speak to the value of early supplier involvement in your design process.
